The research group focussing on Prevention and Treatment of HIV/AIDS was established in 1999. Research focuses on the analysis of factors influencing perinatal transmission, antiretroviral treatment response, treatment adherence and resistance formation in resource-limited areas of Africa. Further, clinic partnerships are implemented to improve care and treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS and coinfections
